It's truly astounding how management seem incapable of getting the right engineers on the job to fix the issues.
At some point it's not bad luck or unforeseen circumstances, it's just inexperience and incompetence.
You are too nice blaming it on Slim Stef's pride - I would say . . . . swallow your pig headed stupidity and arrogance and get the right people involved.
