Gee , I thought people were joking when they started this thread .
He is really rolling the dice on this one . In a way I think good on him , he's having a crack and we may look back and see this as an important moment in renewable energy . It appears that this will be a world first so there will be a lot of interest in how it pans out .
Trouble is , according to the attached articles , he says that " the target would be met with subsidy arrangements " . And yet in another article he claims that " renewable energy means cheaper power for all South Australians " .
Maybe it will be cheaper one day but it might be a decade of higher than average prices to get there ?
It's a pity he is flipping the bird to the feds on this one . Instead of working with them he is working against them , kind of .
It would have been better if he'd done this in consultation with the feds so that it could be an Australian project that we might get plenty of global exposure with .
They do have some big renewable generation projects coming online in the next year or two . I'll be watching this one with interest .
