Cheaper power, but more taxes and fines. Jay nearly got nuclear up but the 'people's jury', heavily influenced by greenies, won the day. Their knockout punch was that they don't trust politicians. Jay should not have let this mob hold sway over the issue. SA residents should have voted, even though the knockout was a valid one. The criteria for the jury was that you had to be prepared to put in two full weekends to qualify. The zealots couldn't sign up quick enough. 1950's mentality prevailed - danger 'squared'. They can't move on. Catching a plane was once considered risky. SA could have led the world in nuke recycling, enrichment and storage of waste and created a safer world as a byproduct. Now we will cover the landscape with metal objects that in a few short years will have to be recycled. Cheaper, I doubt it.
