    The United Kingdom has one of the most generous renewable energy incentive schemes of anywhere in the world.  Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC) are their equivalent of our Large Scale Generation Certificates (LGC).  

    Marine energy attracts the top rate payable for ROC's, making it an attractive market for any technology that can build a commercial project.

    The link refers to wind turbines but could equally apply to marine energy.
