Tristanc, which part of that article shows that they will actually have any effect on climate? Isn't that the end game? Yet the article paints a grim picture even with the most optimistic scenario as far I could see. Maybe the cost of renewables will be too much for little if any effect..... And that's on a global scale, the effect of australian initiatives on climate is questionable in light of say Chinese projections, so investment in renewables might be better judged on economic rather environmental grounds.
