Where do you think this industry would go if not for taxpayers money being poured liberaly over it? Subsidies in any industry warp and distort things till no recognisable market exists. I harp back to the Superannuation funded timber industry when people like John Gay and GUNNS were trampling all over the country building a train crash that others were left to clean up. When you see huge wind farms ending up in the hands of the Govt of China and subsidies being payed to them questions must be asked. As soon as the subsidy gravy train leaves so will the Chinese. And who will be left to clean up the wreckage that they leave behind? If an industry relies on this amount of subsidy then should it even exist?
