The assertion that Renewables are cheaper than fossil fuelled electricity generation is an oxymoron because if that were to be true private enterprise would have stepped up and replaced fossil fuelled electricity generation decades ago.
Our capitalist system over time favours the lowest cost inputs and the highest revenue outcomes........in short, the maximisation of profit!
If we are to be truthful we simply have to ask what more are consumers willing to pay for carbonless electricity be it solar/battery, wind/battery, nuclear or hydrogen where the hydrogen is manufactured by solar/wind etc.
I'm willing to pay 10% more for my electricity if that's what it takes to go carbonless. What about you?
