''How could our public transport system cope?
So many of us do not have public transport.
Railway car parks are full already as well. Are we on the same planet, or am I ,issing something.''
it would cope, probably not too badly. It wouldn't have to all come in instantly.
Rails are in place - more trains - the time to supply trains and drivers would be an issue.
Buses - not such a big deal - all one needs to do is to purchase them and have more drivers. Congestion on the roads would be less - less cars because more would be on buses.
For areas which do not have public transport - then there would be lots more people wanting it if it was free - so, buy buses.
As to smaller areas - well, where I am, one sees lots of little van type buses - they are part of the system.
It can be done, the infrastructure is already in place - what the practicality of it is in reality is that you take cars off the road and you put the same people into buses and trains when you provide them
the cars then stay at home - getting charged up by the sun and wind power from wind farms during the day - and then give out their power during peaks
EV's are now getting very cheap and very fire safe and have bumper power storage - it's a sitting duck for use in the grid - if we want to do it
