What about future generations who are projected to require far more energy than current demand?
From my research, theoretically, nuclear could be introduced in Australia by 2025. That time frame is meaningless when you have a recalcitrant government fixated on the unachievable 100% renewables target with its head in the sand ignoring the inevitable necessity for reliable base load power for future generations. The mindless Bowen and his dunce boss Albanese are serial failures and it will undoubtedly be a Liberal/Coalition government which will have to drag Australia into the future nuclear world.
Australia cannot be competitive in any way without a nuclear future.
The hyperbolic fixation on 2035 is born out of Labor's panic in vainly wishing to be seen to be doing "something" about saving the world by changing the weather whilst destroying the economy, raising power costs and deferring the inevitable introduction of the most reliable and clean energy source on the planet. A fact with which every developed country agrees as can be seen by their current use of nuclear power and their plan to triple its use.
I'm convinced that my children and grandchildren will experience a nuclear powered Australia along with further developments in renewables. It won't happen under the current temporary bloody-minded government. It is inevitable however, as future power requirements inexorably expand.
If it takes 15-20 years is not the issue. The issue is that a future government will have to face reality and unfortunately look back on the wasted years of opportunity under an Albanese tunnel visioned debacle.
