The continuing energy supply crisis has seen another record broken over night, with Queensland trigger the market price cap for the first time ever as energy spot prices climbed over $1000 per Mwh with the cumulative 7 day total breaking through the $1.3m mark.

With approximately 30% of the states coal fired assets offline currently, renewables were unable to take up the winter demand spike which occurred over night as wind and solar were offline.

With prices predicted to continue to rise, what is the government doing to ease further cost of living pressures on households?
