The continuing energy supply crisis has seen another record broken over night, with Queensland trigger the market price cap for the first time ever as energy spot prices climbed over $1000 per Mwh with the cumulative 7 day total breaking through the $1.3m mark.
With approximately 30% of the states coal fired assets offline currently, renewables were unable to take up the winter demand spike which occurred over night as wind and solar were offline.
