Jessel, in response to your understandable query I note that
as a small, small cap investor, I do not have too many eggs in one basket so if things don't go well there won't be too much of a loss.

(However when all of ones small caps go backwards there are a lot of broken eggs)!

Given my small investment, the value of the rights offer plus options is little different to buying the shares on market at the current price plus brokerage. So, in answer to your post it's a rational decision economically to purchase the rights provided one's initial investment is not too large.
