    So you're probably talking about an XY GTHO Falcon . Not really that good an investment . If you are a car guy and you have plenty of money maybe they would be now . But not then .

    They were around $5300 brand new in 1971 . If you kept one for the last 46 years and hardly drove it you may have a car worth 400-500k now . And that would make it one of the best GT's in Australia .

    That's a whole lot of years of storage , rego , insurance and worrying about people scratching it or stealing it .

    That $5000 into a house in Melbourne or Sydney ( or London etc ) reinvested in itself along the way would easily have been a better , safer investment don't you think ?

    Not to mention having somewhere to live along the way .
