In all fairness this article does pertain to apartments, where as I see it you are far more exposed to depreciation due to wear and tear etc. Additionally the yield value and vacancy rate are determinate upon jobs being available in that proximity.
Soft jobs market perhaps?
Valuation of houses and more importantly the associated perceived intrinsic value of the land is what I believe has buoyed the housing market thus far.
