I bought a 2 bedroom townhouse 4 years ago for 345k, the tenants were paying 295/week. I have moved into the property since i bought. The next door property was sold for 605k and is now rented 420/week.
surely, during the initial years you will pay more interest but after few years, the joy of owning my own home offsets the pain of paying the extra interest.
