    Renting of premises:

The Executive Committee discussed that thetenants of ???????????? should not be a part of any discussions and votingregarding renting of any premises held by the Society, including the Branch and the country retreat. It could be perceived that tenants participating in related discussionsand decision making would exert undue influence on such matters, with directpersonal benefit. This conflict of interest (COI) will be added to the COIRegister. The decision was taken that no emails, coercion or intimidation ofany kind will be allowed from any tenant regarding the rent review undertakeneach June. Each tenant will be allowed one short concise email between now andJune expressing what their opinions and concerns are regarding any prospectiverent increase or anything at all regarding themselves as tenants or any othertenants, current or prospective. Agreed

The above, with a couple of changes to protect the where a bouts of the property (& the innocent) is from an executive committee meeting of a Society that rents out 3 units in the overall complex. 2 tenants are on the executive committee & that is a conflict of interest when rents are being discussed. However the Society's Rules state that the rent can only increase (or decrease) by the (WA) CPI % reviewed yearly - up or down to the nearest $5.
Also the 'one short concise email between now and June' seems to miss the point that this is a yearly review - what of next year?

Incidentally I sent the unaltered 'Renting of Premises' to REIWA & they advised I consult a Lawyer. Any other opinion welcome.
