The rental crisis IMO is more because people can't afford to pay them anymore. Houses prices have risen so much landlords expect higher rents to get a return on their investment. But with immigration slowed right down I agree a rental shortage is hard to understand. Maybe people are just buying houses for the capital gain and are not interested in renting them out ?
