A thread on rental increases and its adverse effects and no mention of the cause. The federal government is insanely pursuing high population growth via mass immigration, baby bonuses and welfare incentives. It is doing this against the wishes of 70% of the population at the behest of 7% of the population (big business interests). The disastrous impact on living standards and broadening of inequality of this growth philosophy is plain for all to see, as evidenced by this thread, yet nobody dares mention the cause.

Thanks to high population growth via mass immigration we now enjoy water crises, hopelessly inadequate infrastructure, and services, corrupt political deals to "fix" things(i.e. rip people off more), schemes to undercut wages and conditions with foreign workers, a preference to poach skilled workers from the rest of the world rather than train our own, and housing at its most unaffordable in Australia's history.

And for what? Contrary to what some would have you believe, there is no net per capita benefit from immigration. Essentially this means that the huge profits derived by some from high immigration can only come at the expense of all Australians and the environment.
