Start of 2005 I moved into a brand new home, I was the first to live in it, big 4 bedroom on nice large block, I moved out Christmas 2008 as the landlord decided to sell it.
I spoke to the landlord and turns out over those 4 years I rented it, it cost me less than it cost her to buy, hold and sell it 4 years later. She made a loss even after collecting my rent!
Renting is only dead money if your buying at the bottom of the cycle. Just like buying at the top of a cycle is dead money..
