Personally I just love ebay as you can get some great bargains new or old.
The problem with renting other than the very big ticket items (i.e. house) anything is that you don't have anything to show for your money and if you have to rent/hire for an extended period of time the costs far exceed purchasing the item outright. I would rather buy the item now and have its use long into the future than rent over a shorter period of time.
If more people on $100k per year are renting electrical goods it just shows that they are poor managers of their money and for many of the items they should be asking themselves do I really need it? Or can I get buy without it until I can actually afford to buy it!
