Renting not that bad .... UNTIL .... the landlord wants you out!
Just happened to a mate of mine before Christmas and they've only been there 18 months - now they're dealing with the drama of finding somewhere else to rent and the cost of moving and the extra cost of the new place to rent. They've had a run of bad luck in their renting over the past 4 years and are now ready to buy as they crave stability.
I think rental housing needs to offer more commercial lease like terms so people can feel more comfortable renting when stability and location (with kids in school etc) is important to them.
Renting ... not always a bed of roses being at the mercy of someone else's agenda.
