Yes i work in the tourism area in Hervey bay, crap money and very few jobs around, lucky for me i work on the water and enjoy my job . a lot of my work workmates are getting 15 - 25 hours a week and 50 got laid off last week because of the down turn. most will be re-hired when things pick up.
So many people move here, stay until they realise that the work is not available then move on. thats why the rents and property prices are pretty low.
Good place to live and bring up the kids, so sticking around till they finish school, make sure they get the right quaifications, then bugger off with the wife in a caravan.
Well off to use the tennis court and pool, yes, just thinking, may keep renting for another 12 months.
And remember don't let your assets become your liabilities
