The Digital ID Bill 2024 and Digital ID (Transitional and Consequential Provisions) Bill 2024 passed through the House of Representatives on the evening of May 16 in what the Department of Finance is calling a “milestone for the program”.
Progress on this is good
TLDR - Business wont have to ask for sensitive ID documents as they will be able to verify customers though the MyGov system
