    Rents fall well behind home price surge

    Rents are continuing to fall further behind a surge in home prices, leading to concerns that investors are mostly gambling on potential capital gains.

    So Australians are betting with record high leverage (as measured by household debt to income levels) on houses at record high prices with yields (rental returns) on the slide. This is a speculative bubble coming to an inglorious end.
