Unfortunately this is an all too common occurrence. Hopefully the new amendments to the Corporations Act in relation to adoption of the remuneration report tie Board members incentives closer to outcomes that regular shareholders seek.
I do believe that (one day) the CEO story will materialize - I really do - but I would find the Board to be far more credible if they actually recommended stretching incentives for themselves, and show some genuine leadership through their actions.
