I share your sentiments and will be voting likewise.
How dare these directors use our money to advance their own political ideologies without even a by your leave!
I don’t care whether I agree with the idea or not, the money I put into public companies is for furthering the business not politics.
My personal belief is that all companies should be banned from making any form of political donation but that sort of notion would interfere too much with the gravy train to garner significant support.
At least if the directors see a meaningful shareholder backlash in this instance they may realise that a lot of shareholders take this issue quite seriously!
