Oh, I have absolutely no doubt that McConnell, Graham and Trump are going to keep trying to flog this poor dead horse for a few more days until the deadline runs out on Sept 30.

The problem is not really McCain, who was close to saying Yes on repeal, but balked at the final bills flaws and the unconscionably process it was being pushed through with.

The real problem is Rand. It's not destructive enough for him.
In order to get his vote, they'd have to savage healthcare even more than this version of the bill proposes to do. To get Rand Paul onboard, they'd have to make it even more appalling and risk losing other moderate republicans in the process.

    Will they take the risk?
Will Mitch risk putting it to a floor vote and face another humiliating defeat?
Or will he just let it slide ignominiously into a quite grave at the 11th hour?

Trump claimed he wouldn't sign any healthcare bill that did not guarantee coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Yet he's prepared to sign this one (which doesn't) and the two previous versions (which didn't).
Trump just loves to sign things.
    Any things.
