The following map (courtesy of ConocoPhillips) was missing from the earlier post. A township is made up of 36 sections and each section is 1 mile by 1 mile (640 acres).
The productive area of the Madison is the inner area (Paleozoic PA) of the Unit and is approximately 38 sections (38 sq. miles = 24,320 acres) which if the Madison has a 1,200 ft thick "continuous gas column" with a net to gross of reservoir rock of ??%, an average porosity of 7% (per the Wyoming Geological Association) containing 67% natural gas at 10,000 psi and 425 degF, is trillions of cubic feet (TCFs) of sales gas of which only 1.6 TCF has been produced to date. (Bass Strait gas platforms/reservoirs have produced 9 TCF since Barracouta started production in 1969 (with an estimated remaining reserves of 3 TCF - the Australian June 2016).
