Repenting terrorists and legal picnics

    A few people have suggested we allow repentant terrorists to return to Australia. A few minutes thought should be enough to destroy the concept.

    If they were to be allowed to come home if they have repented then they would all be allowed to come home and travel back and forth to the battle front.

    What court would judge the sincerity of repentance. There is no objective test. The terrorists lawyers would drive a bus through any conditions.

    The penalty for treachery must be permanent self inflicted exile.
