The volumes of bets going through would be very low and pretty much a non issue if they stuff up the odds a small bit.
State election betting is pretty much an exotic bet.
Think about a loss leader at the supermarket. Get people through the door and then give them other offerings/ convert them into a lifelong punter.
I just believe there are a multitude of factors peoples have not accounted for when considering Liberals strength in the next election.
These include -post covid incumbent resentment -trump effect, pushing right wing sentiment with upcoming US election -Albanese effect etc
