Alexium is pleased to announce that a report accompanying the House Armed Services Committee passed National Defense Authorization Act of 2016 will include a directive regarding the use of non-halogenated flame retardant chemistries in military uniforms. The exact language can be found below:

"Flame Retardant Military Uniform Safety: The committee notes with interest an increasing movement toward prohibiting halogenated flame retardants in commercial products because of health and safety concerns and believes that the men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces should be provided the same protections against potential toxic exposure as the civilian population. As such, the committee encourages the Secretary of Defense to explore the potential of utilizing non-halogenated flame retardants in military uniforms, through access to American-made products."
