Skepticism is healthy (paranoia a trap) and yes manipulation can work in different ways.
A final .5 cent rise after a 60% resource upgrade announcement is also reasonably something to be skeptical about. Non-public is why notifying ASIC alone may not be enough. Who watches ASIC?
On the other hand, if there is any manipulation it would seem to be about steadying the price rise per quarter. That might suit someone's plan. Maybe someone who needs to see the DFS first before making a real position. Besides that no idea.
