At $3.3 million they met their profit forecast of $3million plus, most likely another loss by Comms dragged the result back from a possible $4million.
Thankfully with the recently won Comms contracts that division will finally be in the black from now on, apparently these new Comms contracts are labour intensive thus are on very good profit margins.

$1.7 million improvement half on half, they should further increase that improvement this half so it looks like the second half profit of $2.5 million to 30/6/04 plus another half on half improvement of say $2million will give them close to $5million profit for this half alone, even before allowing for Comms going from the red to black.
