I share your anger at this appalling outcome. How anyone can try and shift the blame for this debacle away from the directors just boggles the mind. The reason the last SPP failed was simply because shareholders were fed up to the gills with their profligate ways and their arrogance and stupidity. They had ample opportunity to seek cornerstone investors earlier in the piece, but just turned their backs. Rather than take a slightly bitter pill in the form of dilution or even selling to a big player (as Heartware did) they let the whole lot turn to S**t, leaving employees, creditors, patients and the poor benighted shareholders (like me) in the lurch. This could have been a fantastic Aussie showcase company, now it's just rubble.
I sincerely hope the directors are investigated and barred from future board positions, but sadly I doubt that will happen.
