It's actually termed 'price-discovery' in the right circles, -ve influence vs +ve influence, leaves the 'market' to discover a 'perceived' value-proposition...
Although I don't short/target specific issues/targets (like some targeted short sellers), a well-balance portfolio is much like 'weigh-in scales' logically, rather than picking 'winners/losers,' one can 'reallocate' capital-levels freely to ensure one is sided on the 'weight' of the broad market-sentiment....
I, myself, am relatively concerned with 'valuations' across multiple asset-classes, both locally and globally, I'm holding a heavier mix of cash, gold, silver, defensive-equities and a 'weighted' position in BBOZ and BBUS EFTs, with say maybe 10-20% remaining in 'high-risk' positions, very balanced towards the downside, I think AI is all hype atm, there is significant value in it's evolution, just not yet, all IMHO of course...
