It does not really make a lot of sense unless it is the total number of short sales outstanding at the end of a particular trading day. Thus if one day there are 800,000 short positions outstanding and the next day there are only 100,000, then 700,000 shares have been bought to close out most of the 800,000 shorts. Is that right?
Patiently waiting for the value-accretive, company-defining transaction we are supposed to be getting (mentioned in last year's annual report). (Maybe it will come after the drill results). I hope this is not a bit of hot air from the directors prior to a capital raising, but I suppose it could also be that.
