There are reports authorities believe two of Australia's most infamous foreign fighters have been killed in northern Iraq.
Islamic State recruits Khaled Sharrouf and Mohammed Elomar were killed during fighting in Mosul in the past few days, the ABC's 7.30 program said on Monday.
Sharrouf made headlines when he posed with the decapitated head of a slain Syrian soldier.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been contacted for comment.
