ORIGIN Energy has opened the door to a possible third train expansion of its Queensland export gas project after it finalised the sale of all the output from the first two phases of the project, removing a large question mark overhanging the stock.
Origin and ConocoPhillips, its foundation partner in the Australia Pacific liquefied natural gas project in Queensland, have sold a further 3.3 million tonnes of gas a year to China's Sinopec, boosting total gas sales to 8.6 million tonnes a year from the planned 9 million tonnes a year of capacity.
