I agree. Trumpism is tribalism, and tribalism is a form of intellectual suicide, where decisions are based on loyalty to a leader or perceived ethnic or cultural identity rather than evidence.
A great example is Trump's economic mismanagement. Like any rich kid, everything is on the credit card. We've all seen the type. Best house on the street, best car, trophy wife, new extravagant furniture, overseas trips. And you think, "Gee, they're doing well." Then the bailiffs come in and take everything away one day.
Spending money like a drunken sailor and using the emergency economic measures for a recession during an economic upswing is idiotic. That's what Trump did.
Because he did that the actual deficit right now is a mindblowing $3.5 trillion. US national debt is pushing towards $26.5 trillion. And that's before the next raft of stimulus initiatives!!!!
If Obama spent like Trump spends, the outrage would be deafening and neverending. But Trump's record debt and deficit before Covid-19 didn't worry the so-called conservatives. At all.
