Just on the whole Cape scenario, if we don't hear from PCG by the 7.30PM tonight (AEST) which is the latest time which you can file announcements to the ASX, Cape will probably announce something to the London market when the it opens tonight. Whatever the reason for the halt being called, i reckon Cape already know what's going on, and they'll dually inform their investors when London markets open tonight.

My guess is that PCG have probably called on early trading halt this time around to prevent what happened on 8th August, where Cape announced to London that discussions had terminated on the 7th, but PCG didn't file an announcement to the ASX until 11.00am on the 8th thereby rendering investors slightly in the dark, and for doing this PCG were reprimanded by the ASX.

So, bottom line: check to see if Cape have made an announcement before you go to bed tonight - i'll be staying up. Their likely announcement to the London market tonight will shed some light on whether they've made a higher bid or, if they announce that they're out of the running, we'll know that some other 3rd party is involved.
