Board and Management Update
There have been several board and management changes in the last quarter and subsequently,
which have been reported:
• On 16 September 2012 Cathie Wu resigned as the alternate director to Bob Besley who was
nominated by GTB
• On 16 September 2012 Cathie Wu was appointed a non-executive director of the Company
nominated by PNG
• On 22 October 2012 Howard Renshaw retired as Managing Director. He remains as a Nonexecutive
Director and Deputy Chairman of QMC. Mr David Usasz becoming the executive
Chairman.
"In addition, Dr Lakshman has resigned"
Dr Lakshman Jayaweera is a shareholder and director of Chemmet Pty Ltd.
On 17 September 2012:

QMC appoints Dr Lakshman Jayaweera as a Consultant to the Company
QMC announces the appointment of Dr Lakshman Jayaweera (“Dr Lakshman”) whose eminent
qualifications, expertise and proven track record will be especially beneficial to the Company.
Dr. Lakshman, the former founder, Chairman and Managing Director of HydroMet Corporation
Limited, is a leading chemical engineer with over 35 years of experience in mineral processing,
metal recycling, waste management and chemical manufacturing in Australia and overseas. He
possesses significant leadership talents in corporate affairs, operations, marketing, technical and
business development, predominately for the last 25 years until his retirement from HydroMet
following its takeover last month.
Dr Lakshman’s chemical background provides an important additional resource that the Company
requires as it moves towards production.
He has developed leading expertise in lead recycling and the production of Selenium, Copper
Sulphate, Zinc Sulphate, Cobalt, precious metals and other metal chemicals from various metal
bearing resources.
Dr Lakshman’ skills will be utilized by the Company to assist senior management in a number of
key areas and his focus will be:
? Evaluating the options in relation to the Mt Norma copper processing plant
? Investigating water management and acid drainage issues from an environmental risk
perspective
? Considering strategies for the Gilded Rose gold plant
? Advising on possible alternative recovery methods for copper, cobalt and other metals
