Can't hurt to email them, we are part owners in the company and as such should be provided with adequate infomation. Im not sure if one email would be enough to make them produce an offical announcement. Maybe if they were swamped with emails they might listen. Im pretty sure they would be aware of the frustration that shareholders feel about the delays to the drilling program. Im not sure if highlighting your particular frustration will be of any particular value to them, but then it can't hurt. Im hopeing to jump inline for a few more at 0.005c on monday when i get some spare cash, so for me, im happy to wait a little longer :P.
