It's all about perspective. Banks have a senior claim so from their persepective things are in fact in an OK position because equity is wiped out and the sub note holders are impaired but not wiped out.
From the sub note persepective things are bad. From the equity perspective they're awful.
Did Allco sell the Techapi wind farm for more than it's book value? I don't recall (not a trick question :) ).
