Battery manufacturers for new energy vehicles muted buying activity since the start of the third quarter as their input inventories filled up and funds from previous government-led subsidies dried. The concerning macroeconomic backdrop in the Chinese economy also reflected low consumer spending for electric automobiles. Despite a 32% year-on-year growth in new energy vehicle sales in the country, reports showed that 10 Chinese new-energy vehicle producers offered new rounds of price cuts to meet second-half sales targets. Lithium is expected to trade at 249028.25 CNY/T by the end of this quarter, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations.
