Good point about the options, Homerpile. I don't know what the market rate is for these reports, but $42,500 doesn't seem too heavy to me given the opportunity to tell the story to the movers and shakers on Wall Street and beyond. As you say, the main point of interest are the options.
A decent Google on Jeffrey Kraws shows him to be a genuine blue-blood of the Pharma/Biotech analyst community in New York and the US/Canada, with a raft of awards as a top stock picker to prove it. That he's happy to take 500,000 Unilife options as part-payment says a lot. If he didn't like the story he'd have taken the money up front. Yes, it would be interesting to know what the vest price and date is, but whatever, he clearly expects them to be in the money and to get paid in full.
Hopefully we will get an announcement from the company soon (this week?), followed in short order by news of the IA sign-off. Big month for Unilife and a great way to start the New Year.
On another matter, the pie chart of the 2006 industry market share was interesting. Becton Dickinson with 77% must be looking over their shoulders askance at the Unilife/Sanofi partnership. (I'd imagine they are not alone in this). Sheds new light on the stated aim of upsetting the current status quo and garnering 20% market share for Unilife. Makes me wonder who we're going to take it from? Becton? RTI? The Rest? And how the pie chart will look in 2010-14 with Unilife in there with 10-20%, or whatever
Also makes you wonder how long we can continue as an independent under the organic growth strategy. Think there will be much more and wider interest from investors and competitors alike when this message really starts to hit home. This will become even more evident when the NASDAQ list happens later this year. Can't help but think that having Mr. Kraws/Crystal championing our cause on Wall Street is all part of this bigger picture. Can't wait to see it all unfold. Once we're on NASDAQ it will well and truly be game on.
