We just had an interesting call from a friend in Shepparton.
A couple of years ago he let us know he was coming down to Melbourne to undergo some still experimental treatment.
Apparently, he had severe knee osteoarthritis (bone on bone) although he felt no pain.
He was paying around $4000 for the treatment and yes, it was going to be a series of injections, at a place in Box Hill.

No prizes for guessing what that drug might have been.

Of course, we were eager to hear how things went so he promised to keep in touch.
Two or three months later he rang to say there had been no change in his condition. I assumed since he felt no pain anyway that he was talking about function. We were disappointed for him and thought that was the end of it.

He rang again tonight to let us know he has since had a successful knee replacement, and that, by the way, his shoulder OA (he had shoulder OA?) has resolved since his iPPS treatment.

Yeah!
