Hrdwk, good article. I have heard a few of these ideas, regrafting cartilage from ears and a few others similar type solutions.
I think they could do quite a good job and backfilling cartilage loss or tears and the like. However, the thing I love about iPPS is that we elicit the same response BUT we also address the underlying inflammation.

You can replace a tyre after a puncture but if you keep rolling over the same pothole/nail you are going to damage it again. Better to have that initial problem solved, ie address what's causing the depletion of the cartilage in the first place.

OA is holistic as we know, cartilage is just one fragment of the pie.
