There was a whole heap of discussion on Stem Cells but I think HC has gone through a purge or at least something is wrong and I cant easily dig up the prior posts on this topic.
There were a few that waded into the conversation and the conclusion was that Stem Cells while they have their advantages and merit, wasn't really competition for iPPS.

Sure the technology of stem cells is improving and one day it might be a viable therapy. I think one of the negatives was the expense (I vaguely remember someone saying it was upwards of $13 K plus per treatment ) and the hit and miss success they have as it is quite a targeted application ie an individual's own cells are used for treatment, not a general application like iPPS... so it might work well for one person but not so good for the next.
