This poster from Yahoo seems to be in the know?

In the PDF below it shows where they (the collaboration at the UNSW) are at now and what they expect in the future, it looks like the UNSW have already achieved up to 25% this year in the lab at least according to page 78 which talks about leading silicon LAB technologies?

On page 80 it shows what they have achieved with Commercial Grade P-Type Monocrystalline cells today, we can see where they have reached around 22% with this commercial grade material in the lab this year, in the pilot they reached 20% and with large scale production they have reached what looks like a little better than 18%

see pages 78 to 82 pf this PDF below"

SWP I wonder whether this is what you were referring to when you said Suntech had other ideas beyond the 25% efficiency and will go it's own way? it sounds like a reasonable idea? not sure how it increases efficiency? but it may lower overall installation costs, so if it does? then I suppose the dollar per watt costs for the whole installation do come down and it would also make the installation much easier, is that more efficient ?

    here is what he said
"The other development that might interest you is the integration of inverters into the module to create a 'smart' module. That is also something that is being developed (uniquely I believe) at Suntech, although they have not officially released any details of products yet (and probably won't until well into next year).
