I agree when things are good and you live in OZ the AUD is great. However these shares should be expressed in JPN or USD or Gold to get a better feel for how they are doing.
Riskiy times just gets money out of non earners first which is why these companies are so volatile.
Graph LYC against AUD/JPY ratio and youll see a clear relationship forming. AUD up yen in AUD down YEN out SP drops.
If LYC produced tomorrow that risk would reduce the YEN would stay knowing it was a critiacl industry.
Thats why we are here IMO we know inside that LYC will produce a commodity that will surpass any carry trade largely.... then the dividends.
