Geo blocking has been around for some time, in the boating world many are aware of the pitfalls of purchasing from overseas electronic charts and certain sounders not working here due to blocking. The figures quoted among the youth with piracy however accurate is only 50% of the fight. The other 50% is converting some of those figures to paying consumers. What's the underlying answer to the why are they doing it? Is it the cost factor to youths? Or is it seen as a cultural thing? How to connect with the youth and get them on board is the real challenge, otherwise geo blocking is a cost with no financial gain.
